Quantitative Investment Fellow - Fall 2026
Foxholm Financial • Data & Operations Track
About the Role
Our investment process is systematic and data-driven. You will work alongside a registered investment adviser, building and testing analytical model concepts as part of a hands-on learning experience.
A 12-week educational fellowship designed for graduate students who want to bridge the gap between financial theory and data science. You will gain exposure to the tools (Python, React, SQL) used by a modern Quantitative RIA.
Unlike firms that outsource investment management to third-party model providers, Foxholm Financial builds its strategies in-house. This gives you direct access to the "engine room" of an advisory firm, seeing exactly how buy/sell decisions are made, risk is monitored, and model portfolios are constructed.
Foxholm Financial sponsors your choice of professional certification. You select one of three credentials that fits your career path: the FINRA Series 65 (Uniform Investment Adviser Law Exam), the FINRA Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), or the Python Institute PCAP / AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner. We cover the full exam cost and offer guided study with 1:1 content review sessions.
What You'll Do
- Research academic papers on factor-based screening (value, quality, momentum)
- Build a quantitative stock screener in Python using real market data
- Collaborate on backtesting strategies against historical data and iterating on parameters
- Construct a model portfolio with taxable vs. tax-advantaged account considerations
- Build a custom React dashboard to display portfolio outcomes and performance
- Study for and earn a Series 65, SIE, or Python (PCAP) / AWS Cloud Practitioner certification
